Assessing the effect of financial leverage on earnings per share in India’s pharmaceutical sector

Abstract
This study examines the impact of financial
leverage on Earnings Per Share (EPS) within India’s pharmaceutical sector.
Financial leverage, which involves the use of debt to finance company
operations, can influence a firm’s profitability and risk profile. By analyzing
financial data from selected pharmaceutical companies over a specified period,
this research investigates the relationship between leverage ratios and EPS,
highlighting how debt utilization affects shareholder returns. The findings
provide insights for investors and management regarding optimal capital
structure decisions in the dynamic pharmaceutical industry of India.
